The capitol sits among 30 acres of landscaped gardens and trees, including many varieties from around the world and many native to California, some having prospered on site since 1872. Inside, the senate and assembly still meet in their beautifully restored chambers.

   Weekends: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
   Admission: Free

Tour Office:

   Located in basement Room B-27, 9-5 weekdays. During the weekend, tour assistance may be found in the rotunda.
   10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily

Public Tours:

   The State Capitol Museum conducts tours daily, on the hour, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The capitol is closed January 1st, Thanksgiving, and December 25th
