“The handsomest building I ever saw,” said President Theodore Roosevelt at the dedication of the capitol in 1906. A smaller replica of St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome, Pennsylvania’s state house is nothing short of breathtaking.

Free tours of the Capitol Building:
 • Monday - Friday 8:30 a.m. - 4 p.m.
 • Saturday - Sunday 9 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 3 p.m.

The Capitol Building is closed New Year's Day, Easter, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.

Groups of 10 or more are requested to make tour reservations in advance.
