General hours M-F 8-4:30. Visitors may have a self-guided tour during general hours.
Guided tours are available for groups of fifteen or more during the week by calling in advance to arrange one. Visitors who are not in a group of such size may call ahead. Should a tour be scheduled, visitors may be able to join these groups.
Guided tours are available on Saturdays at 9, 11, 1 and 3.
Please note that access to the capitol on Saturdays is permitted only through the guided tours; there are no general weekend hours.
The capitol is closed on Sundays and holidays.
The stamp for Alabama is located in the Goat Hill Museum Store, in the capitol.

Beautiful capitol and well lit at night for pictures. Look for the semi-circle of all state flags. At the base of the flag is a state stone. In 1969 each state was contacted and asked to send a stone that best represented it. A few states did not respond so state name was engraved in concrete.
